Miriam W. Wagner

Miriam W. Wagner (nee Porter), 95, of Hillside NJ passed away peacefully at her home on July 24, 2017.

Beloved wife of the late Eugene Wagner. Devoted Mother of Larry and his wife Debbie and Lee and his wife Carla. Loving grandmother of Joanna Canfield, Diana Martinez, Michael Lapp and the late Robert Wagner. Great Grandmother of Dakota, Cheyenne and Hayley Wagner, Carlee, JesseLynn, John Jr. and Miriam Canfield, Jasmine Carter, Ricardo Martinez and Austin Koteje. Also survived by many Nieces and Nephews.

Born in Newark, NJ, Miriam lived in Newark and Irvington, NJ before moving to Hillside. She was a Life Long Member of Grace Episcopal Church in Newark, NJ, for which she gave her love and devotion to in many different areas. She acted as Sacristan for the Alter Guild, member of the Womenís Society and Sunday school teacher to name a few. Countless hours of her needlework is shown on the kneelers of the High Alter and chair of Officiates.

Miriam was devoted to her family and home. She was a bookkeeper for the Hy-Grade Electroplating Company. She had a love for reading and her animals, for which she had many and traveling with her husband every year. They visited every National Park in the USA except for two in their 73 years of marriage. She enjoyed people, their cultures and was eager to learn about them. Her love of Cards, Music, Song and Dance, kept her going through the years.

The visitation will be on Friday July 28, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed directly by her Requiem Service at Grace Episcopal Church, 950 Broad St, Newark, NJ 07102. Funeral arrangements by Growney Funeral Home, 1070 North Broad St. Hillside, NJ 07205.

Internment at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, NJ.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting a donation in Miriamís name to her beloved, Grace Episcopal Church.
