Joseph W. Miskiewicz

Former Chairman of Hillside Board of Adjustments and Former Chairman
of the Union County Improvement Authority; Air Force Veteran

Joseph W. Miskiewicz, 75, of Toms River, Formerly of Hillside, passed away on October 13, 2018 at Community Medical Center.

Born in Wallington NJ, Joe moved to Garfield until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1961. He served his country during the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge in 1966. After his service he moved to Hillside where he lived for 30 years. Joe worked for Schering Plough in Union, Kenilworth and Bloomfield, as an Electrician, Foreman then Supervisor until retiring in 2004. He then worked for the County of Union as Labor Compliance Officer for 10 years.

Joe was a member of the American Legion Post #470 in Kenilworth then transferred to Toms River Post #129. He was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus #3197 Hillside and a 4th Degree Member of Assembly 0666 in Union.

Devoted father of Jason, Joseph and Jamie. He is survived by grandchildren: Rocco, Trevor, Tyler, Jayden, and Jaxon. Joe was predeceased by his Longtime Companion, Rosemary McClave. Recent partner Wladyslawa Stypula.

Relative and Friends are invited to attend the Visitation which will be held on Wednesday Oct. 17th from 5-7 PM at The Growney Funeral Home, 1070 No. Broad St. Hillside. In lieu of flowers donations to the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated.
